ON-GOING EVENTS&offerings

St. Matthew's Womens Singing Circle

The Women's Singing Circle which Megan & I founded in April 2009 met monthly for singing sacred songs (mostly a cappella) within a prayer service for 16 years. It no longer meets monthly, but there may be some pop-up gatherings in the future. Stay tuned. The next Pop-Up will be Saturday, September 26. See below in the calendar for more details.

6:00 Sunday Evening Eucharists

St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, at 1902 W. Main Street, Durham

Megan Whitted and I (The Travelin' Mercies) provide music for these services THROUGH July 2027.

St. Joseph's is the "little church with the big red doors." The Vicar is the Rev. Dr. Lauren Winner. She is a professor at Duke Divinity School and an Episcopalian priest. She is also an author and has written one of my favorite books, "Still." We are so excited to be working with her and providing music for this service. This is how they describe our music: “Americana soaked in Appalachian rain.” I just love that!!

Please note that, sadly, the congregation is worshipping in the space above the Parish Hall because the church building was discovered to have significant structural deficiencies. This alternative worshipping space is beautiful and has a golden glow about it.

Calendar events

I'm back to vending most Saturday mornings at the Chapel Hill Farmers Market. I'll be bringing all my new aprons, potholders, children's felt books, napkins, small, framed collages that I call tableaus. Plus, I'll have a selection of my husband Tom's new pottery: mugs, drinking vessels, and bowls. Hope to see you there.
